Things to Do & See

1) Carlsberg Brewery Tour — Visit Carlsberg

Situated in it’s own little town, you can do a self-guided (or guided) tour of the brewery. In the old brewhouse, you can read about the history of beer in Denmark and the follow Carlsberg’s evolution through the years. Included in admission is 2 tastings. Enjoy the fantastic courtyard during the summer; Courtyard Cafe and Jacobsen’s Brewhouse & Bar serve some tasty lunches to accompany beer selections! Pay additional for a ride on the horse drawn carriage – rides 4x per day.

2) Tivoli

The local amusement park that features summer music, performances, and fireworks. A good location for people watching and a little fun. Prices are for entry only; additional costs for rides. Open daily and stays open later on weekend evenings.

3) Ny Carlsberg Glypotek

A nice collection of statues, paintings and artifacts, dating back to the time of the Egyptians. Also features many Danish artist. Personal art collection of Carl Jacobson, founder of Ny Carlsberg (the beer), and the son of JC Jacobson (original founder of Carlsberg). Admission on Sunday is free! Closed on Mondays.

4) National Museum

An interesting walk through the history, evolution, and development of Denmark from BC through the 2000s. Be prepared to read a lot! Free admission. Closed on Monday; Open later on Wednesday evenings.
